End-of-life part (EOL)

End-of-life is a term used to indicate that a product has reached the end of its useful life from the vendor’s perspective. When a product comes to its EOL, it will no longer be marketed, supported, or sold by the vendor.

End of Life Part Manufacturing Concerns
For a manufacturer, EOL concerns involve discontinuing production or a product used in a component, thus contributing to supply chain disruption.

End of Life Part Business Concerns
For the business using the product, EOL concerns include disposing of the existing product responsibly, transitioning to a different product, and ensuring there is as little disruption as possible.
